The manufacturing process of galvanized square and rectangular tubes mainly includes the following steps:
Material Selection: High-quality low-carbon steel coil is used as the raw material for production. These raw materials undergo rigorous physical and chemical testing before being used to ensure they meet production requirements.
Cutting and Processing: The raw material coil is cut into appropriately sized square tube blanks according to the specifications.
Cleaning Treatment: The square tube blanks are sent to a cleaning tank for acid cleaning to remove surface oils, oxides, and other impurities, ensuring a clean and contaminant-free surface. This step is crucial for subsequent galvanizing treatment.
Sulfuric Acid Immersion: The cleaned square tube blanks are immersed in diluted sulfuric acid to further remove impurities such as iron oxide from the surface and provide suitable surface conditions for galvanizing.
Galvanizing Bath Immersion: The square tube blanks, after sulfuric acid immersion, are sent to the galvanizing bath. The zinc solution in the galvanizing bath has an appropriate temperature and concentration. The square tube blanks are continuously immersed and withdrawn from the galvanizing bath at a certain speed, allowing a uniform layer of zinc to be plated on the surface of the tube. This step is the core of galvanized square tube production.
Surface Treatment: After exiting the galvanizing bath, the zinc layer on the surface of the square tube may have some chlorides and other impurities. Therefore, re-cleaning is required using a diluted acid wash tank or water wash tank to ensure the purity of the zinc layer surface.
Drying Treatment: The cleaned square tube blanks are dried through high-temperature drying or increased transmission speed to evaporate all moisture on the blanks. This step helps prevent the zinc layer from peeling off or corroding during subsequent processing.
Cooling Treatment: The dried square tube blanks are sent to a cooling tank to reduce their temperature to room temperature. This step helps stabilize the size and shape of the square tubes, preventing deformation issues caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
Quality Inspection: The galvanized square tubes undergo appearance inspection and physical performance testing. Appearance inspection includes checking the flatness, adhesion, and thickness of the zinc layer; physical performance testing includes tensile strength, bending performance, cold bending performance, etc. These inspections ensure that the quality of the galvanized square tubes meets relevant standards and requirements.
Embossing Marks: According to requirements, embossing marks, including the manufacturer's logo, specifications, standard number, and other information, are made on the square tubes. These marks help users identify and use the galvanized square tubes.
Packaging and Shipping: The qualified galvanized square tubes are packaged, commonly using packaging methods such as plastic film or woven bags. They are then shipped out of the warehouse for delivery to customers.
